I'll Say Goodbye To Yesterday
I'll say goodbye to yesterday,
With each new dawn and sunset,
The ocean bathed in trembling light,
The island in the distance beckoning,
The seagulls low in flight.
I shall recount my yesterdays,
The sorrows and the joys.
The children, pets and friends,
My treasures and my toys.
I find that life is fleeting,
Perhaps love even more.
The words spoken today
Were spoken oft before.
But in the final analysis
When every minute counts,
When I say goodbye to yesterday
And the years against me mount,
I find that life's no mystery,
It was out there all along.
I don't regret my distant past,
It's what made me strong.
I have already said goodbye
To the one I so adore,
I feel we'll never meet again,
But I felt that before.
I'll always treasure all the love,
Even now that we're apart.
I'll want you till my dying day,
My love... you are my heart
