A Misty Morning

In the early morning mist
While the fog is still around
I stand here and think of you
As the drops of rain glisten on the ground.



The mist makes me sad this time of morning
It's cloudy like my heart.
Things are no longer clear to me
Since we've been apart.



I know I had good reasons
To walk away from love again;
But standing here.. I long for you
And miss you as much as I did them.



It's so quiet and I'm so lonesome
As I reminisce about our love.
I hear the creatures stirring
As the sun peeks through above.



I see a sparrow passing by
And I see your dark brown eyes.
As the puffy clouds start coming out
I see your face there in the sky.



A cardinal sits atop the pine
And sings his sweet morning melody
I think of all the mornings
You sang a melody of love to me.



I remember only happy times
Since that day we met on line
Since the day I met you
You were always on my mind.



I'm placing part of my heart for you
Upon the wings of the morning dove
She's bringing my dreams and wishes too
To remind you that my heart still...
