Making It On My Own

It's so misty tonight as I travel all alone

I've been here before... It's nothing new

It isn't easy... I've stumbled once or twice

But I'm making it on my own...

I'm getting over you.

I see reminders of you everywhere,

The memories always make me smile.

And when I look up at the moon

I feel you with me for a little while.

We had some happy fun filled days

But we also had some bad.

When I think back on them

It really makes me sad.

It's so surprising to me though

How fast you were able to forget.

You found somebody new

Before the sun had time to set.

That kind of tells me something

About the love we had togeher.

True love can't be replaced that fast.

But then... nothing lasts forever.

I'll never know what's behind that mountain

'Til I find my way beyond the night.

So for now I'll keep following the stars

Until I get it right.

I wish you only love and happiness

And I'm truly glad you're not alone.

Meanwhile... This road is getting brighter

And I'm making it on my own
