He Is Risen

Jesus has risen

What a glorious day!

He died for our sins

On that dark Friday



I can't even imagine

The pain and agony

Our Saviour endured

For you and for me.



A crown of thorns

Instead of jewels on His Head

No crimson velvet cloak did He wear

But crimson blood instead



They buried Him inside a tomb

Placing guards around it then

But in just three days as He promised

Jesus came back to us again.



The Son of God

This Prince of Peace

Died on the cross

And our souls were released.



As He ascended to Heaven

He had this to say

"I'll return for you soon

On that very last day."



As we celebrate this Resurrection

Let us bow our heads and pray

For those we've lost...for peace in the world

For all we've been blessed with

And for the troops to come home to stay.
