My Eagle

I think my heart is in those evergreens,

I can't find it any where.

But a Bald Eagle was seen flying away with it.

The darn bird broke it, had a half in each talon.



I can't stay angry at him tho, look at him....

So handsome, so beautiful when he soars.

He's majestic, strong, courageous,

He carries the world on his wings.



Just watching him, my soul sings

He flies high, just keeping out of sight

But I know he's there, somewhere....



I'm so lost without him

Do you think he'll keep my broken heart forever?

Maybe he'll fly low enough

That I can get a glimpse of him



At least I might be able to see

If he's still carrying my heart

Or if he dropped it

While soaring with another.



I love that Eagle

But I know he has to be free

I won't chase him or try to capture him,

No... that's not for me



But I can watch for him

And love him from afar!

Ummm, there he is......

OOPS.... He's gone again!
