Beginning Again

How do you begin again if you can't forget?

How do you forget when a memory lingers on?

How do you stop the memories when there's still so much love?

And how do you stop loving someone just because he's gone?



Every day I tried to begin again... every day I failed.

I never knew what it was to love someone like this.

I thought it would be so easy to begin again without you.

But nomatter what I did, I still felt your love, your arms, your kiss.


As time went by, it got easier to pretend I was over you.

I filled my days with laughter, friends and fun.

I fought all my demons, the candle I burned at both ends.

My days were filled with gaiety but I died when day was done.



I think my heart knew more than I, for it never gave up hope.

It never did allow me to love somebody new.

Just when I felt I was over you, the feelings began again.

I often wondered if your heart did the same to you.


I tried so hard to begin again, start my life all over.

To forget about you, oh... I tried in every way.

But no one could replace you, my heart wouldn't let them try.

I wanted no one else to love, to laugh with or to play.



And now we've come full circle, you're back again with me.

I have someone to love, to laugh with and to play.

Once again I'm starting new beginnings but darlin' can you tell me

Why do I have this feeling that you're not back to stay?
